'The Circus Comes to the Village' is a picture book about a village in Afghanistan. In it's few words - it is a picture book after all - and with the use of colors it tells a story of loss and fear, hope and chances. Even when the snow falls and all gets dark and grey, there is hope of a new and bountiful harvest. The story has no clear 'all ends well for everyone'-ending, which is a good thing imo, since life does not always have a bright ending. Children are better equipped for the truth than we adults often realize, as long as there is a nugget of hope. And there certainly is.

I want to thank Netgalley and Museyon publishers for the chance to read and review this book.
